I’ve spent eight years as an investment professional. I started my career in real estate private equity, managing a portfolio of £1bn+ of assets in Europe, before moving to climate investment and ultimately woman’s health, after the birth of two children.
It was my own experience of pregnancy and birth that inspired The Motherhood Practice. I’m French, and I had my children in two different countries. In France, I had one dedicated midwife who followed me throughout pregnancy, came to my home afterwards, and supported me for a full month. In the UK at the NHS, I saw twelve different midwives during my pregnancy, often with just a few minutes to ask questions. That difference was striking. Unfortunately, I’m not an isolated case: 4 out of 5 women here never meet the same midwife twice.
I decided to book additional private midwifery services in an attempt to replicate the care in France, and it was a life saver. And it made me realise: women here deserve better. That’s why I created The Motherhood Practice, the service I wish had existed for all.
I hold a MSc in Management from EMLyon Business (France) and I’m currently pursuing a MSc in Women’s Health at University College London (UK) .
